Youth-Led Initiatives for Gender-Responsive Climate Action and Participation in Marginalised Communities

IKI Small Grants supports Plan Indonesia in its organisational capacity development through:

• Increase technical knowledge on climate change, build up in-house expertise, and share it internally, with a particular focus on developing impactful and scalable solutions for youth-led climate action and measuring impact
• Develop Plan Indonesia as a key stakeholder in national policy-making frameworks to engage young people in discussions on climate policy development and and to build partnerships

Plan Indonesia supports youth advocates and youth organisations through the following measures:

• Training on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems aligned with the Low Carbon Development Indonesia (LCDI) M&E Framework
• Scaling up plan for climate adaptation and advocacy initiatives
• Training in project finance management (including budgeting and financial reporting)
• Capacity-strengthening activities based on learning modules
• Training in Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (MER)
• Mandatory training on Safeguarding and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (PSHEA)
• Workshops on advocacy strategies

Plan International has been working in Indonesia since 1969 and officially became Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (Plan Indonesia) in 2017. It works and advocates for the fulfilment of children’s rights and equality for girls. The organisation forges partnerships with civil society organisations, youth networks, government, and other key stakeholders.
