This IKI Small Grants project addresses the decline of pollinators in the Selva Maya region (Guatemala and Mexico) due to climate change, deforestation, and agricultural practices. The goal is to promote pollinator-friendly farming practices, raise awareness, and influence public policy for better protection of pollinators by training smallholder farmers using the Farmer Field Schools methodology and proposing policy changes. Key outcomes include the adoption of sustainable practices by farmers and collaboration agreements with local governments for policy improvements. The project will also raise awareness and provide long-term ecological and economic benefits to the communities.

Capacity development

IKI Small Grants supports Bios Participación Política y Desarrollo A.C (bios) in its organisational capacity development through advanced trainings on:

implementation of gender perspectives in social projects.
the use of Salesforce to run organizational processes. Salesforce is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, that is a software to manage and systematize activities, projects, clients.
organisational development and public relations to improve the governance schemes within the organization and the skills on public relations to obtain additional resources.
