Raising awareness on climate change adaptation to restore and preserve water and soil resources
This IKI Small Grants project aims to raise awareness of climate change and its impacts in the Mexican community of Tlanepantla, Morelos, through the following approaches: 1) Education and capacity development: Trainings will be conducted for teachers and students on climate change, its causes, and impacts. Both groups will be encouraged to become active agents of change within their community. Pilot projects focusing on local adaptation and mitigation actions will be implemented in selected schools. 2) Strengthening local governance: Governance structures in the community will be strengthened, and project proposals for locally led actions will be developed.
